For the past three winters we have created and staffed emergency shelters for homeless persons unable to find shelter anywhere else. The need continues, and we are pleased to announce that for 2018-19 we will once again be partnering with Dimitri House, Inc. to open winter temporary transitional housing for homeless men and women at 102 N. Union Street. These efforts depend on community support. To help meet this year’s needs please donate and /or volunteer as you are able.
In advance of the planned opening Monday, November 19 there will be an open house at REACH Home 2018/19 on Saturday, November 17. See here for details.
Beyond addressing immediate needs we work to find sustainable housing solutions and services to reduce the recurring need for these emergency arrangements. To learn about our efforts over the summer toward a possible community of tiny homes please see our volunteer page.
