Thanksgiving donation of necessities to REACH Advocacy by Nazareth College students
Thankfulness at Thanksgiving!
During the busy and demanding times of the pandemic, Nazareth College student Mariana Cong organized her peers to gather and donate items for the homeless. Personal protective equipment (PPE) masks, hand warmers and brand new clothing items like sweatpants, undergarments, socks, and hats will be forwarded to those in need by REACH Advocacy in partnership with other groups during the winter season. Thank you Mariana and the Nazareth College community.
Please note that during the pandemic, REACH can only accept and process new unused clothing.
Cleaning and Restoration of REACH Home 2019-20
John Curran continued to lead in the cleaning and restoring of rooms at the former Coptic Orthodox rectory building used for last winter’s REACH Home. On November 2 he was joined by a wonderful group of students from Chesterton Academy, a Catholic High School in East Rochester. The group completed all the activities prepared for them, focusing on wood restoration tasks – part of our effort to return the building to functional use for residential purposes and office space serving affordable housing and community needs. Their vigorous efforts improved the appearance of nine rooms and two hallways; thank you, students, for all that you accomplished.
Restoration efforts began May 2020 and continued into 2021.
